Job Summary

Registered Nurse, Medical Surgical With Telemetry, Brownsville, Texas. The position provides nursing care for patients in a stroke-focused medical-surgical telemetry setting. Responsibilities include intravenous therapy, wound care, neurological assessments, and management of patients requiring telemetry monitoring.

Job Details

• Schedule: Night shifts consisting of 12-hour shifts, with a minimum of 36 hours per week.
• Required Qualifications: National Institutes of Health certification, Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), intravenous therapy skills, wound care skills, neurological assessment skills, and medical-surgical and telemetry experience.
• Preferred Qualifications: Charge nurse or resource nurse experience.
• Additional Information:
  • Stroke-focused unit with a 24-bed capacity.
  • Patient assignments may include up to seven patients per nurse.
  • Clinical procedures may include cerebral angiograms, left heart catheterizations, feeding tube placements, endoscopy and colonoscopy procedures, bronchoscopies, central line insertions, laparoscopic cholecystectomies, and urologic procedures.
  • Weekend coverage is required every other weekend.
  • On-call coverage may be required as needed.
