Job Summary
Registered Nurse, Medical Surgical Neurology Floor, Portland, ME. The role provides nursing care for neurosurgical and trauma patients, including individuals with spinal fractures, craniotomies, aneurysm repairs, intracranial hemorrhages, traumatic brain injuries, seizure disorders, and multiple traumas. The position supports a proactive, team-oriented clinical environment focused on safe, attentive patient care.
Job Details
- Schedule: Day shifts, 12 hours per shift, with a minimum of 36 hours per week; weekend coverage is required every other weekend.
- Required Qualifications: At least 2 years of experience in neuro or neurosurgical nursing.
- Preferred Qualifications: Neuro or neurosurgical care experience.
- Additional Information:
- Provides care for neurosurgical, neurological, and trauma patients.
- Patient assignments may include spinal fractures, craniotomies, aneurysm repairs, intracranial hemorrhages, traumatic brain injuries, seizure disorders, and multiple traumas.
- Clinical equipment and therapies may include telemetry, intracranial pressure monitoring, external ventricular drains, epidural therapies, patient-controlled analgesia, chest tubes, and tracheostomies.
- A proactive, positive, and work-focused team approach is preferred.
- Professional clinical attire is required; scrub color is flexible.
