Job Summary

Progressive Care Unit (PCU) position in Auburn or Covington, providing care for patients at the PCU level or below, with the majority of assignments supporting emergency department overflow. The role involves caring for medically complex patients, including those with respiratory distress, sepsis, cardiac conditions, post-procedural needs, and withdrawal management requirements.

Job Details

• Schedule: Night shift; 12-hour shifts; minimum of 36 hours per week.
• Required Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience.
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • National Institute of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification.
  • Proficiency in cardiac rhythm interpretation, tracheostomy and BiPAP management for stable patients, invasive line management, ostomy care, general drain and chest tube management, lumbar drain management, intravenous medication titration, and care for CIWA patients.
  • Electronic medical record experience required.
• Additional Information:
  • Assignments may include PCU-level patients or lower-acuity patients in emergency department overflow.
  • Typical patient populations include respiratory distress, end-stage renal disease, acute kidney injury, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, gastrointestinal bleeding, sepsis, general postoperative conditions, cerebrovascular accidents, alcohol-related conditions, overdose, congestive heart failure, and post-catheterization or interventional radiology patients.
  • Patient ratios are approximately 1:4.
  • Scrubs may be any color; navy blue is preferred, and camouflage is not preferred.
