Job Summary

Registered Nurse Medical Surgical With Telemetry. This role provides comprehensive care for patients requiring medical-surgical and cardiac telemetry monitoring in a fast-paced healthcare environment. The position includes monitoring cardiac conditions, administering treatments, supporting cardiovascular procedures, and collaborating with interdisciplinary teams.

Job Details

Schedule: Night shifts, 12 hours per shift, 36 hours per week, with weekend coverage every other weekend.
Required Qualifications:
- Active California Registered Nurse license
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- National Institute of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
- Two years of experience required
- Experience with noninvasive cardiac stress testing and monitoring cardiovascular special procedures
- Experience with electronic health record charting using Epic
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous charge experience
- Phase II and Phase III cardiac rehabilitation patient care experience
Additional Information:
- Provides care for patients with heart failure and rhythm disturbances, myocardial infarction, acute respiratory failure, pulmonary embolism, arrhythmias, and post-operative cardiothoracic surgery needs.
- Monitors cardiac telemetry and dysrhythmias and manages cardiac and vasoactive medication infusions without titration.
- Performs or supports cardiac catheterization, cardiac angiography, cardioversion, transesophageal echocardiography, stress testing, and other cardiovascular procedures.
- Maintains readiness of crash carts, defibrillators, intravenous equipment, and medication dispensing systems.
- Demonstrates knowledge of patient care techniques, medications, treatments, general healthcare procedures, and emergency response processes.
- Collaborates with physical therapy, respiratory services, interpretation services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, transportation, and unit support staff.
- Travelers should remain flexible regarding assignments within the applicable scope of practice.
