Job Summary

Registered Nurse, Medical-Surgical With Telemetry Long Beach, California. This position provides overnight nursing care for adult and geriatric patients in a medical-surgical and telemetry setting. The role includes cardiac monitoring, medication and treatment administration, comprehensive patient assessment, and collaboration with interdisciplinary care teams.

Job Details

• Schedule: Four 12-hour night shifts per week, 7:00 p.m.7:30 a.m., totaling 48 hours per week.
• Required Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience
  • California nursing license in hand
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • Electrocardiogram (EKG) certification
  • Experience caring for adult and geriatric patients
• Float: Float rotation may be required.
• Additional Information:
  • Typical patient assignment is four patients per nurse.
  • Weekend coverage is required every other weekend.
  • No on-call coverage is required.
  • Self-scheduling is used.
  • Clinical responsibilities may include telemetry monitoring, dysrhythmia management, central-line and feeding-tube care, blood product administration, heparin and intravenous insulin protocols, renal failure management, wound care, and rapid-response support.
  • Interdisciplinary support includes physical therapy, respiratory services, interpretation services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, rapid-response teams, and pharmacy.
  • Documentation is completed using an electronic health record system.
  • One professional reference from within the past two years is required.
