Job Summary

Registered Nurse, Medical-Surgical Oncology, Long Beach, California. The Registered Nurse provides comprehensive care to adolescent, adult, and geriatric oncology patients in a medical-surgical setting. The role includes chemotherapy administration and monitoring, telemetry care, intravenous immunoglobulin (IVIG) experience, and collaboration with interdisciplinary support services.

Job Details

• Schedule: Day shifts are scheduled as four 12-hour shifts per week from 7:00 a.m. to 7:30 p.m., with a minimum of 48 hours per week and every-other-weekend coverage.
• Required Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 2 years of professional nursing experience
  • Active California nursing license in hand
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • Oncology Nursing Society (ONS) chemotherapy certification
  • OCN certification
  • Electronic charting system experience
• Float: Float rotation may be required.
• Additional Information:
  • Care is provided to adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients.
  • Patient assignments are typically one nurse to four patients.
  • Intravenous immunoglobulin (IVIG) experience is required.
  • Clinical responsibilities include chemotherapy administration and monitoring, port and central-line care, blood-product administration, telemetry monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation, oxygen therapy, intravenous therapy, wound care, feeding-tube management, and respiratory support.
  • Interdisciplinary support includes physical therapy, respiratory services, interpretation services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, and unit secretary support.
  • First-time travelers are accepted.
