Job Summary

Registered Nurse, Progressive Care Unit. This position supports patients requiring stepdown-level care, including cardiac drip management and titration, dysrhythmia management, telemetry monitoring, and neurological care. The role requires collaboration with rapid response and code teams and may include floating to telemetry or medical-surgical units based on operational needs.

Job Details

• Schedule: Night shift, 12-hour shifts, with a minimum of 36 hours per week. Every other weekend is required, and on-call coverage is not required.
• Required Qualifications:
  • At least 1 year of experience.
  • Progressive Care Unit or stepdown experience.
  • Cardiac drip management and titration experience.
  • Required certifications: Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Basic Life Support (BLS), and National Institute of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS).
  • Compact license must be in hand at submission.
  • Electronic medical record experience is required; Epic experience is required.
  • Experience with dysrhythmia interpretation and management, rapid response and code teams, blood product administration, central and peripheral line care, oxygen administration, non-invasive airway management, isolation precautions, personal protective equipment, and telemetry.
• Additional Information:
  • Expected patient assignment ratios are approximately 1:45.
  • The unit provides care for neurological, neurosurgical, and telemetry patients.
  • Cardiac drip management and titration is a required competency.
  • One holiday may be selected between Thanksgiving and Christmas, but both holidays cannot be selected.
