Job Summary

Registered Nurse, Medical Surgical With Telemetry. This role provides care for high-acuity patients in a 12-bed medical-surgical unit within a critical access hospital setting. Responsibilities include telemetry monitoring, cardiac drip titration, respiratory support, post-operative care, stabilization of acutely ill patients, and preparation for transfer to a higher level of care.

Job Details

• Schedule: Day shifts, variable days, from 7:00 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.; 12-hour shifts; 36 hours per week. Two weekend shifts are scheduled during each two-week period. Low-census on-call coverage may be utilized.
• Required Qualifications:
  • Michigan Registered Nurse license
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • At least 1 year of relevant experience
  • Experience with telemetry, cardiac drips, including Cardizem, and respiratory support such as heated high-flow therapy
  • Experience caring for post-operative general surgery, orthopedic, and urology patients
  • Ability to stabilize acutely ill patients according to Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) guidelines and prepare patients for transfer to a higher level of care
  • Ability to titrate Cardizem drips
• Float: Float rotation may be required.
• Additional Information:
  • Patient assignments typically include 45 patients, with a maximum assignment of 6 patients.
  • The role supports high-acuity patient care and may involve floating to high-acuity units.
  • Care is provided in collaboration with registered nurses, certified nursing assistants, physicians, supervisors, and respiratory therapy staff.
  • Scrubs are required; no specific color is designated.
  • Two professional references are required for submission.
