Job Summary

Registered Nurse, Medical Surgical With Telemetry. This position provides care for high-acuity patients on a 12-bed medical-surgical unit, including telemetry monitoring, cardiac drips, respiratory support, and postoperative care. The role supports patient stabilization and transfer to a higher level of care in collaboration with an interdisciplinary team.

Job Details

• Schedule: Night shifts, 12 hours per shift, 36 hours per week, with variable scheduling from 7:00 p.m. to 7:30 a.m.
• Required Qualifications: Michigan Registered Nurse (RN) license; Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification; Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Additional Information:
  • Provide care for an average assignment of 45 patients, with a maximum assignment of 6 patients.
  • Provide telemetry care, manage cardiac drips including Cardizem, and support patients requiring heated high-flow respiratory therapy.
  • Provide postoperative care for general surgery, orthopedic, and urology patients.
  • Stabilize acutely ill patients according to Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) guidelines with support from physicians, nurses, supervisors, and respiratory therapists.
  • Float to high-acuity units as needed.
  • Work collaboratively with certified nursing assistants, registered nurses, and critical care-trained supervisory staff.
  • Two weekend shifts are required during each two-week period.
  • Holidays are not required.
  • Low-census on-call coverage may be utilized.
