Job Summary

Registered Nurse Team Lead Medical Surgical Skilled Nursing. The role is responsible for coordinating patient care, applying critical thinking, delegating appropriately, and prioritizing clinical needs. Responsibilities include patient assessment, monitoring, documentation, reporting changes in condition, interdisciplinary collaboration, patient advocacy, and maintaining clinical competence.

Job Details

• Schedule: Evening schedule with 10-hour shifts and a minimum of 40 hours per week; the position description specifies five evening shifts from 3:00 p.m. to 11:30 p.m.
• Required Qualifications:
  • Registered Nurse state license verification
  • Ability to perform patient assessment, monitoring, documentation, reporting, delegation, and care coordination
  • Ability to practice ethically and professionally within the applicable scope of practice
  • Ability to operate required equipment and perform duties that may require lifting up to 50 pounds or prolonged sitting or standing
• Additional Information:
  • Direct patient care includes assessment, monitoring, recording, and reporting changes in patient condition.
  • Collaboration with the interdisciplinary care team and participation in interdisciplinary care are required.
  • Patient advocacy and effective communication are essential responsibilities.
  • Evidence-Based Practice (EBP) and patient-care best practices should be promoted.
  • Clinical competence specific to the assigned care area must be maintained, including completion of required education within the stated timeframe.
  • Documentation must be completed appropriately and thoroughly in the electronic medical record.
  • Participation in unit councils and staff meetings is required.
  • The Registered Nurse Team Lead may be assigned to a Licensed Practical Nurse medication-cart role as staffing permits.
  • Floating to other units may occur as staffing permits.
  • Every other weekend and every other holiday are required.
  • Orientation is typically one day on the assigned unit.
  • Scrubs of any color may be worn.
