Description

Job Summary

Surgical Technologist, Operating Room Open Heart. This position supports open-heart cardiovascular operating room procedures on a day schedule. Responsibilities include surgical technology support, weekday and weekend call coverage, and compliance with required certifications, licensure, and vaccination or approved declination requirements.

Job Details

Schedule: Day shift, 8 hours per shift, 40 hours per week, 7:00 AM3:30 PM.
Required Qualifications: Active Certified Surgical Technologist certification, Virginia license, Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation certification, Basic Life Support (BLS) certification, at least 2 years of open-heart cardiovascular operating room experience in a similar setting, prior travel experience, and COVID-19 and influenza vaccination or approved declination.
Additional Information:
- Weekday call is limited to no more than three shifts, with no more than three weekend call periods in a six-week schedule.
- Weekend coverage includes a 7:00 AM3:00 PM call shift and a 3:00 PM11:00 PM working shift on Saturdays and Sundays.
- Expected weekend coverage is approximately 23 weekends per month.
- Orientation is conducted every other week on Mondays, with listed orientation dates of 11/30 and 12/14.
- A Virginia license application is required if the candidate is not currently licensed; processing may take approximately 46 weeks after all documentation is provided.
- The assignment is scheduled from 11/30/2026 through 02/27/2027.
