Job Summary
Registered Nurse, Medical Surgical Floor Location not specified. This role supports a fast-paced neurology and stroke team caring primarily for stroke patients, along with general medical-surgical patients. The position emphasizes teamwork, clear communication, quality-of-life improvement, and assistance with activities of daily living (ADLs).
Job Details
- Schedule: Day shifts, 12-hour shifts, with a minimum of 36 hours per week.
- Required Qualifications: Active nursing license with license and certificate verification; Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification; National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification; successful completion of a proctored rhythm test.
- Additional Information:
- Provides care for young adult through late adult patients.
- Supports a designated stroke unit with a 30-bed capacity.
- Patient assignments may include a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:6.
- The registered nurse assumes full responsibility for assigned patients.
- Collaboration occurs with licensed practical nurses, patient care technicians, and nurse interns.
- Strong teamwork and clear communication are essential.
- The role focuses on improving patient quality of life and supporting activities of daily living (ADLs).
