Job Summary

Registered Nurse, Post Anesthesia Care Unit, Morristown. This role provides nursing care to patients in the preoperative holding and recovery areas before and after operative or invasive procedures. The position coordinates patient care, collaborates with physicians and multidisciplinary teams, and supports safe, compassionate, and efficient perioperative services.

Job Details

• Schedule: Day shifts, 12-hour shifts, 36 hours per week.
• Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
  • Active state Registered Nurse (RN) license
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) experience
• Preferred Qualifications:
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification
  • American Society of PeriAnesthesia Nurses (ASPAN) certification or guideline knowledge
  • Critical care experience
  • Master of Science in Nursing (MSN)
• Additional Information:
  • Provides care throughout the nursing process, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
  • Promotes patient safety, advocacy, independence, and education for patients and families.
  • Collaborates with physicians, medical staff, administration, and multidisciplinary team members.
  • Maintains accurate medical records and protects confidential patient and staff information.
  • Applies clinical policies, procedures, regulatory standards, and therapeutic care standards.
  • Supervisory and charge nurse responsibilities may be required.
  • Strong verbal and written interpersonal communication skills are essential.
  • Proficiency with computer-based data management programs and information systems is expected.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology, mathematical tasks, and confidentiality ethics is required.
  • One winter holiday and one summer holiday may be required as needed.
