Job Summary

Registered Nurse, Operating Room. The position supports perioperative care across multiple surgical specialties, including orthopedic, general, gynecologic, podiatric, urologic, and limited plastic procedures. The role requires circulating experience, robotic surgery proficiency, current travel nursing experience, and active life-support certifications.

Job Details

• Schedule: Rotating shifts of 9.5 hours, with a minimum of 38 hours per week; on-call coverage includes one shift per week and every fourth to fifth weekend.
• Required Qualifications:
  • At least 24 months of current operating room experience in a hospital or medical center setting.
  • At least 3 months of current travel nursing experience within the previous 18 months; first-time travelers are not eligible.
  • Circulating experience required.
  • Proficiency in orthopedic, general, gynecologic, podiatric, urologic, and limited plastic procedures.
  • Proficiency operating robotic surgical systems.
  • Active Iowa or compact/multistate nursing license.
  • Active Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
  • Active Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Preferred Qualifications: Scrub experience and proficiency in neurologic and cardiovascular procedures.
• Additional Information:
  • Assignment start date is 01/11/2027.
  • Orientation is scheduled for 01/11/2027.
  • The position includes rotating holiday coverage, including one to two of three designated winter holidays and one to two of three designated summer holidays, unless the unit is closed.
  • Electronic charting experience is required.
  • Performance evaluation or professional reference from a charge nurse, supervisor, nursing manager, director, chief nursing officer, or chief operating officer within the previous 24 months is preferred.
