Job Summary
Emergency Room position. This role supports a high-volume acute care setting serving adult and pediatric patients, including trauma, stroke, STEMI, sepsis, and behavioral health cases. The position requires strong pediatric experience and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced emergency environment.
Job Details
- Schedule: Night shifts consisting of 12-hour shifts, with a minimum of 36 hours per week. Every other weekend and holiday coverage is required.
- Required Qualifications:
- Minimum of 3 years of experience
- Active professional license required for submission
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA)
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification
- National Institute of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
- Additional Information:
- Provides care for adult and pediatric emergency patients, including trauma, STEMI, stroke, sepsis, and behavioral health cases.
- Supports a busy emergency department with fast-track care, main emergency beds, and trauma bays.
- Pediatric experience is strongly valued, with a preference for candidates experienced in both adult and pediatric emergency care.
- Patient assignments may include behavioral health and psychiatric patients requiring crisis support and safety monitoring.
- Typical patient-to-nurse ratio is 4:1.
- Registered nurses must be able to troubleshoot ventilators and interpret bedside and station monitor strips.
- Respiratory therapy, pharmacy, and phlebotomy services are available around the clock.
- Unit orientation consists of three days, including floor-based training and educator support.
- Navy scrubs are required for registered nurses.
