Description
Job Summary
Registered Nurse, Labor and Delivery Department. This position provides care for laboring patients and delivered mothers in a fast-paced obstetrical setting. The role requires competency in fetal monitoring, delivery support, cesarean section care, and management of maternal and newborn needs.
Job Details
- Schedule: Night shift, 12-hour shifts, with a minimum of 36 hours per week.
- Required Qualifications: Valid California Registered Nurse license; Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) provider, and Association of Women's Health, Obstetric and Neonatal Nurses (AWHONN) Advanced certifications; Advanced Fetal Monitoring certification; minimum of 2 years of experience; ability to care for both newborns and delivered mothers.
- Preferred Qualifications: Previous charge experience and charting system experience.
- Additional Information:
- Experience assisting with vaginal deliveries and cesarean sections, including circulating for cesarean sections and recovering post-cesarean patients.
- Competency in Electronic Fetal Monitoring (EFM), obstetrical triage, sterile vaginal examinations, and Apgar scoring.
- Ability to manage pregnancy-induced hypertension, magnesium sulfate therapy, terbutaline, Pitocin, epidural anesthesia, pain management, and administration of blood products.
- Proficiency with intravenous therapy, infusion pumps, intravenous monitoring, patient-controlled analgesia, isolation precautions, and required security banding.
- Interdisciplinary support includes physical therapy, interpretation services, phlebotomy, and social services.
