Description
Job Summary
Registered Nurse, Emergency Room. The position provides comprehensive nursing care in an acute patient setting, including assessment, care coordination, direct patient care, patient and family education, and transitions of care. The role supports individualized care planning and collaboration with patients, families, physicians, and other healthcare professionals.
Job Details
- Schedule: Day shifts consisting of 12 hours per shift, with a minimum of 36 hours per week; weekend coverage is required every other weekend.
- Required Qualifications: California Registered Nurse license; Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification; Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) certification; Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification; at least 2 years of experience; prior travel nursing experience.
- Preferred Qualifications: National Institute of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification; electronic health record charting experience.
- Float: Float rotation may be required.
- Additional Information:
- Provides care for adolescent, infant, adult, pediatric, and geriatric patients.
- Patient assignments may include a ratio of 1 nurse to 4 patients.
- Responsibilities include emergency assessment and triage, emergency medication administration, procedural sedation monitoring, management of respiratory conditions, dysrhythmias, seizures, trauma, behavioral health conditions, and other urgent medical needs.
- Supports care involving ventilated patients, central lines, blood products, intravenous medications, arterial lines, chest tubes, and emergency airway management.
- Collaborates with physical therapy, respiratory services, interpretation services, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, transportation, and unit support services.
