Join our team as a Registered Nurse specializing in Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) in Rochester, NY. This 13-week contract offers an opportunity to work in a high-acuity environment. The position involves 12-hour night shifts from 7 PM to 7 AM, with four shifts per week and guaranteed 48 hours. Weekend shifts will be required every other weekend, and flexibility for holiday work is necessary. In this role, you will provide expert care for critically ill cardiac surgery patients. Responsibilities include arterial line management, ventilator management, continuous IV sedation, and care for patients with advanced cardiac devices like ECMO, LVAD, RVAD, and IABP. The unit features a 1:2 nurse-to-patient ratio, with occasional 1:1 ratios depending on acuity.The facility has a 16-bed CVICU that treats patients with sepsis, ARDS, heart failure, multi-organ failure, and more. Expertise with EPIC charting, ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications are required. Experience with advanced procedures such as chest tube insertion/removal, CVVHD/CRRT, and dysrhythmia management will be beneficial.This is a great opportunity to work in a Magnet-recognized hospital with cutting-edge technology and a multidisciplinary team.
