Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced MS/Telemetry Registered Nurse for a Resource Float Pool position. The RN will primarily be assigned to Cherokee Medical Center but may float to other units or campuses, including Spartanburg Medical Center, based on facility needs. The RN will be notified in advance of the scheduled location.

Patient Population & Unit

The unit cares for adult patients with conditions including:

• Sepsis
• Dementia
• Post-operative patients
• Orthopedic patients
• Chest pain
• Rule-out strokes

The facility uses centralized telemetry monitoring with a dedicated telemetry technician. Experience managing cardiac rhythms and telemetry patients is essential.

Key Responsibilities & Skills

• Provide comprehensive MS/Tele nursing care in a fast-paced environment.
• Continuous cardiac/telemetry monitoring and dysrhythmia management.
• Care for patients with chest tubes and wound vacs.
• Respond appropriately to cardiac and other clinical emergencies.
• Work effectively across multiple units within scope of practice.
• Pass required arrhythmia and medication testing on the first day of the assignment.

Requirements

• 2+ years of MS/Telemetry experience preferred; candidates with 1+ year may be reviewed
• Prior travel nursing experience required, with strong MS/Tele experience
• BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS – Required
• Epic experience – Preferred
• Telemetry experience – Strongly preferred
• Community hospital experience – Preferred
• First-time travelers may be considered per facility review

Schedule & Additional Requirements

• Every other weekend / as needed
• On-call required
• Must complete either 2 on-call shifts or 2 additional shifts per 6 weeks
• May float to ICU with MS patients and other units within scope, including Church Street and Mary Black campuses.
• Block scheduling is not available.
