 RN Cardiac Cath Lab

1. Shift & Schedule

• Position: Registered Nurse (RN) – Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory
• Department: Cath Lab
• Shift: Day shift
• Working Hours: 7:00 AM – 5:30 PM
• Schedule: 4 × 10-hour shifts

• Floating Requirement: Required between Cath Lab and CVU

   

2. Required Experience

• Cardiac Cath Lab experience is mandatory.
• Pre-procedure and post-procedure nursing experience is highly preferred.
• Acute cardiac care experience is preferred.
• Epic experience is required.
• Must be willing to float between the Cath Lab and CVU (Cardiovascular Unit).

3. Job Responsibilities

Patient Assessment & Care

• Assess patients with complex cardiac conditions.
• Identify patient care priorities and changes in clinical status.
• Assess physical, psychosocial, educational, and safety needs.
• Anticipate discharge needs and coordinate patient care.

Pre- and Post-Procedure Care

• Provide pre-procedure and post-procedure nursing care, as applicable to the assignment.
• Monitor patients and communicate relevant clinical information.
• Educate patients and families about care plans and recovery.

Clinical Implementation

• Perform bedside point-of-care testing when required.
• Follow hospital nursing standards, policies, and procedures.
• Organize and prioritize care based on patient needs.
• Consult appropriate resources for complex or high-risk cases.

Care Coordination & Teamwork

• Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams.
• Participate in care planning and evaluation.
• Maintain effective communication with colleagues and patients.
• Support patient safety, quality improvement, and cost-effective care.

5. Floating Requirements

The RN is expected to work in both:

• Cath Lab: Cardiac catheterization procedures and related nursing care.
• CVU: Cardiovascular Unit patient care.

The candidate should be comfortable working in both areas and adapting to their respective patient care requirements
