Description
Job Title: EP Tech (Electrophysiology Technologist)
Assignment Length: 13 or 26 Weeks
Shift: Day Shift – 4x10 Hours
Experience Required: 2 Years
First-Time Travelers Accepted: Yes
Certifications Required: BLS, ACLS
Guaranteed Hours: 70 hours per 2 weeks (subject to call-off of one 10-hour shift per 2 weeks)
Job Requirements & Schedule
- Call Requirements: EP call may be required between 6:00 PM and 8:00 PM if the technologist has left for the day. Otherwise, the late team typically stays until cases are completed. Callback after leaving is rare.
- Weekend Requirements: Some Saturdays are required as part of the regular four-shift workweek, not as additional shifts.
- Floating: May float to similar units as needed.
- Block Scheduling: Accommodated.
- Local Candidates: Not accepted. Permanent address must be at least 50 miles from the facility.
- Pending License: Not applicable.
- RTO: Considered individually upon offer. All requested time off must be included at submission.
- Travel Experience: Not required.
Clinical Unit & Procedures
The facility supports a broad range of cardiac, electrophysiology, vascular, interventional radiology, and neurointerventional procedures, including:
- Diagnostic and interventional cardiac catheterization
- STEMI procedures and hemodynamic support, including IABP, Impella, and TandemHeart
- Structural heart procedures, including PFO closure, TAVR, and MitraClip
- Electrophysiology studies, cardiac ablation, cardiac mapping, cardioversion, and conduction studies
- Pacemaker and AICD insertion/programming
- Left atrial appendage (LAA) closure
- Interventional radiology procedures, including line and drain placement, embolization, angiography, and stroke thrombectomy
- CRM device implants
- Vascular interventions, thrombectomy, and neurointerventional procedures
Required Skills
- Accurate patient monitoring and equipment setup
- Recognition of life-threatening arrhythmias
- Scrubbing and maintaining a sterile field
- Electrophysiology evaluation and procedures
- Cardiac mapping, ablation, and device implantation
- Experience with cardiac catheterization and interventional procedures
Preferred Skills & Experience
- Chronic Total Occlusion (CTO) procedures
- Peripheral and venous access procedures
- Rhythm interpretation and EKG lead placement
- Philips X-ray systems
- Various atherectomy and thrombectomy devices
- Temporary LVAD support
- McKesson for Cath Lab
- MacLab/CardioLab for EP
- Experience with advanced cardiac, vascular, neurological, and interventional radiology procedures
