Position Details

• Position: MRI Technologist / MRI Tech
• Facility: Alton Memorial Hospital
• Location: Alton, Illinois, 62002
• Contract Duration: 16 weeks

2. Schedule & On-Call

• Schedule: Tuesday–Friday, 6:30 AM–5:00 PM
• Schedule Pattern: 4×10-hour days
• On-call: Every 5th weekend, Saturday and Sunday, 9:00 AM–1:00 PM
• Block Scheduling: Not accepted
• Floating: Required within the service line
• Floating to Sister Facilities: No

3. License & Certifications

• ARRT (MR) certification
• BLS
• IEMA certification

4. Required Skills & Experience

The candidate should have experience with:

• MRI scanning and image acquisition
• Starting peripheral IVs
• Preparing and administering contrast media
• PACS
• Image post-processing, including ADC mapping and subtraction
• T1- and T2-weighted imaging

MRI procedures listed:

• Abdomen and pelvis
• Brain, head, and neck
• Chest
• Cervical, thoracic, and lumbar spine
• Hip and bony pelvis
• Knee and shoulder
• Face and soft-tissue neck
• Male and female pelvis

Preferred experience:

• Pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics
• Inpatient, outpatient, ER, and community hospital settings
• Adult acute care and ER/trauma imaging

5. Local Radius & Time-Off Rules

There is a conflict in the posting:

• Position-specific details: No local candidates within a 50-mile radius.
• Facility compliance: No local candidates within a 75-mile radius.

RTO (requested time off):

• Maximum 7 days without additional approval.
• More than 7 days requires manager approval.
• Holiday RTO also requires approval.
• All RTO must be finalized at submission.
• No RTO during the first week.
• No additional RTO or schedule requests after submission, offer, or start.

6. Vaccination & Compliance

• COVID-19 vaccine: Not required.
• Flu vaccine: Required; medical or religious exemptions only.
• Compliance deadline: 3:00 PM CST on the Monday before the week of the start date.
• Labs must be completed within 48–72 hours after signing.
• Modules are completed before starting through WorkRamp.
• Modules are billable up to 16 hours at $20/hour.
• Modules must be completed by the second Friday before the start date to avoid delays.
• Facial hair must allow proper fit testing; otherwise, shaving is required.

7. Important Facility Policies

• Returning travelers: 18 months of service with a 3-month break required.
• Former permanent employees of BJC and/or Saint Luke’s must wait 1 year before returning as travelers.
• The facility does not accept marketing submissions unless an approved exception applies.
• Candidates are expected to complete their signed contract; canceling to take another BJC assignment is not permitted.
