Job Description

Seeking an experienced Travel Registered Nurse (RN) – Labor & Delivery to provide comprehensive care to patients with low- and high-risk pregnancies. The ideal candidate must have strong fetal monitoring skills, experience managing high-risk patients, and the ability to assist with cesarean sections.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care to patients during labor, delivery, and the immediate postpartum period.
• Monitor fetal heart rates and recognize and manage abnormal fetal heart rate patterns.
• Perform sterile vaginal examinations and manage high-risk obstetric patients.
• Circulate during C-sections and assist with obstetric procedures.
• Apply advanced fetal monitoring techniques and the CMQCC Category II algorithm.
• Administer medications and monitor maternal and fetal conditions.
• Collaborate with OB hospitalists, anesthesia, NICU, and postpartum teams.
• Maintain accurate patient records using Epic.
• Follow SBAR communication and medication safety protocols, including Omnicell.

Required Qualifications

• Active California RN license required at submission.
• Minimum 2 years of L&D nursing experience.
• Recent experience performing sterile vaginal examinations.
• Experience managing high-risk obstetric patients.
• Advanced fetal monitoring experience.
• Knowledge of the CMQCC Category II algorithm.
• Experience circulating for C-sections.
• Epic experience is mandatory.
• Current AHA BLS, ACLS, NRP, and AWHONN Advanced certifications.
