Typical job duties

• Patient intake: Obtain and record vital signs, such as blood pressure, pulse, temperature, respiration, height, and weight.
• Patient preparation: Prepare patients for examinations and assist healthcare professionals during routine visits.
• Clinical support: Perform authorized clinical tasks within the scope of training, certification, and CDCR procedures.
• Medical records: Document patient information, update charts, maintain accurate records, and protect confidential medical information.
• Specimen handling: Collect, label, and prepare specimens for laboratory testing when authorized.
• Clinic operations: Prepare examination rooms, maintain supplies, clean equipment, and follow infection-control procedures.
• Communication: Coordinate with nurses, physicians, and other healthcare staff regarding appointments and patient needs.
• Safety and security: Follow prison security protocols, institutional policies, and emergency procedures while maintaining professional boundaries.

Preferred Qualifications:
 

• Previous hospital, rehabilitation, institutional, or correctional experience is helpful but not required
