Location: Spokane, Washington

- Shift: Days, 3x12s (7:00 AM – 7:00 PM)
- Hours: 36 hours per week
- Patient Ratio: Approximately 1:4
- Experience Required: 1 year of RN experience
- Travel Experience: Not required; first-time travelers accepted
- Charting System: Epic (required, hard stop)
- Call: Not required
- Weekends: Every other weekend
- Block Scheduling: Not available
Position Overview
- Provide nursing care to patients in a neuroscience, neurology, neurosurgical, and telemetry setting.
- Float between units as needed to meet staffing requirements.
- Neuro experience is required for this day-shift position.
- Nurses should be comfortable using the NIH Stroke Scale and caring for post-neurosurgical patients and patients with various neurological diagnoses.
- 48-hour schedules are not approved.
Requirements
- Minimum 1 year of RN experience.
- Neurology nursing experience required for this day-shift opening.
- Epic experience required.
- ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS listed under certifications.
- Experience with a patient ratio of approximately 1:4–5.
Required Clinical Skills
- Neurological assessment and care.
- NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS).
- Neuro stepdown and telemetry.
- Cardiac monitoring and interpretation and management of dysrhythmias.
- Care of patients with CVA/stroke, traumatic brain injury, spinal cord injury, and neurosurgical conditions.
- Pre- and post-neurosurgery care.
- Craniotomy patient care.
- BiPAP/CPAP management.
- Chest tube management, including Emerson/PleurEvac systems.
- Procedural sedation administration and monitoring.
