MRI Technologist – Grant Medical Center, Columbus, Ohio

2. Required Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of MRI Technologist experience.
• Candidates with 1.5 years may be considered if they have strong Level I trauma or large-hospital experience.
• Experience with Siemens MRI scanners is required.
• ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) certification or NMTCB (Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board) certification.
• Current BLS certification.
• IV-start experience: Strongly preferred.
• Cardiac experience is a major plus.

3. Facility and Equipment

• MRI Scanners: Two 1.5T Siemens Aera scanners.
• EMR: Epic; charting experience is required in the compliance notes.
• Scrub Color: Charcoal grey.
• Daily Census: Approximately 40 patients.
• Patient Population: Adolescents, adults, and geriatric patients.
• Number of Rooms: 3.
• Hospital Beds: 380.

4. Types of MRI Exams

The department performs:

• Neurology / neuro MRI
• Musculoskeletal (MSK) MRI
• Abdominal MRI
• Breast MRI
• Enterography
• MRI scans for patients with pacemakers

The department does not perform:

• Cardiac MRI
• Prostate MRI
• CSF flow studies
• MRA of extremities

The facility has MRI-safe equipment for ventilated and monitored ICU patients. Conscious sedation is not performed.

5. Call and Scheduling Requirements

The job description specifies:

• Three weekday daytime call shifts per month.
• One weekend call every 12 weeks.
• Night shifts from 9:00 PM to 6:30 AM.

Important: Weekend requirements conflict between the job description (every third weekend) and facility notes (every other weekend). Confirm the actual schedule with the account manager before submitting.

6. Distance Requirement

The candidate's permanent address must be more than 100 miles from OhioHealth Grant Medical Center at 111 S Grant Ave, Columbus, OH 43215.

Candidates who live within 100 miles are not eligible under this requirement.

7. Submission and Compliance Requirements

• Candidate must be pre-closed before submission.
• SSN and DOB must be on file at submission.
• Available start date, requested time off (RTO), and schedule requests must be included.
• Managers review all applications.
• Lab work must be completed within 48 hours of signing.
• EKG/dysrhythmia exam must be completed within 72 hours of signing.
• Approximately 12 hours of pre-start modules are required; these are non-billable.
• References are not required.
• Maximum RTO is 10 days per contract, with no RTO allowed during the initial weeks.

8. Additional Facility Policies

• Floating: Travelers are first to float.
• Parking: Free in unrestricted spaces.
• Attendance: More than one call-off may result in termination; no-call/no-show results in immediate termination.
• Return Staff Policy: Previous OhioHealth employees must have a 366-day separation before returning as travelers.
• PRN employees cannot accept travel assignments while actively employed PRN.
