Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced Mammography Technician to perform breast imaging procedures as ordered by physicians to assist in the diagnosis and treatment of breast diseases. The ideal candidate will have strong technical skills, a commitment to patient safety, and the ability to provide compassionate, professional care while maintaining patient privacy and dignity.
 

Key Responsibilities

• Perform mammography procedures according to physician orders and established clinical protocols.
• Operate mammography equipment and ensure proper patient positioning and image quality.
• Apply and adjust breast compression devices appropriately during imaging procedures.
• Evaluate images for technical quality and ensure accurate imaging results.
• Assist with physical breast inspections or palpation when required and appropriately trained.
• Perform routine radiology technologist duties as needed.
• Maintain accurate patient records and manage imaging documentation using designated computer systems.
• Follow established safety standards, infection control procedures, and patient confidentiality requirements.
• Communicate effectively with patients and healthcare professionals.
• Assist with patient positioning and mobility, including lifting and repositioning when necessary.
• Maintain professional knowledge and skills through continuing education and professional development.

Required Qualifications

• Graduate of an AMA-approved school of Radiologic Technology.
• Current registration with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
• ARRT Mammography Certification or the ability to obtain certification within the first year of hire.
• Minimum 2 years of mammography experience.
• Successful completion of training in other radiology procedures.
• Current CPR certification.
• Ability to perform venipuncture, where required by the assigned location.

• Strong knowledge of mammography procedures and imaging techniques.
• Ability to operate, calibrate, and maintain mammography equipment appropriately.
• Good visual acuity to assess image quality.
• Excellent patient positioning skills and manual dexterity.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to handle confidential patient information professionally.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to patient safety.
• Ability to work effectively in stressful situations.
• Proficiency in using computer systems and electronic recordkeeping tools.
• Ability to provide respectful, patient-centered care to individuals from diverse backgrounds.
