Travel Registered Nurse (RN) – Psychiatric / Behavioral Health
Franklin, Indiana
Job Details

- Contract Length: 13 weeks
- Shift: Nights
- Schedule: 3 × 12-hour shifts (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)
- Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
- Experience Required: Minimum 1 year of Psych or Behavioral Health experience
- Charting System: Cerner
- Required Certification: BLS
- First-Time Travelers: Accepted
- Local Candidates: Accepted
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct patient assessments and administer medications.
- Facilitate nursing groups and actively participate in patient treatment.
- Apply crisis de-escalation techniques and support behavioral health interventions.
- Address patients’ medical needs and monitor their overall condition.
- Collaborate with behavioral health technicians, security, social workers, and the clinical leadership team.
- Assist with charge responsibilities and support unit operations as needed.
Requirements & Preferred Experience
- At least 1 year of psychiatric or behavioral health nursing experience.
- BLS certification is required.
- Previous charge nurse or charge relief experience is preferred.
- Strong communication, crisis management, and de-escalation skills.
- Willingness to be flexible with scheduling and help meet unit staffing needs.
