Job Overview

The Pediatric Cardiac Sonographer will perform pediatric echocardiograms, fetal echocardiograms, and other diagnostic cardiac studies. The ideal candidate must have pediatric echocardiography experience, be capable of working independently, and demonstrate strong technical and patient-care skills.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year of relevant experience.
• Previous pediatric echocardiography experience is required.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Ability to perform diagnostic cardiac studies independently.

Preferred Certifications

• ARDMS RDCS (FE): Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer – Fetal Echocardiography.
• ARDMS RDCS (PE): Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer – Pediatric Echocardiography.
• CCI RCCS: Registered Congenital Cardiac Sonographer.

ARDMS RDCS (FE) or CCI RCCS credentials are specifically preferred.

Preferred Skills and Experience

• Pediatric outpatient experience.
• Fetal echocardiography experience.
• Proficiency with Philips ultrasound equipment.
• Epic charting experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform pediatric echocardiograms and fetal echocardiograms.
• Conduct other diagnostic cardiac imaging studies as required.
• Obtain high-quality diagnostic images and ensure accurate study documentation.
• Work independently while maintaining quality and safety standards.
• Provide appropriate patient care throughout diagnostic procedures.

Winter Holiday Requirements

Depending on unit and department needs, clinicians must either work or provide on-call coverage for:

• 1 of 2 winter holidays, or
• 2 of 3 winter holidays.

The winter holidays include Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year’s.
