Description
MUST BE ABLE TO FLOAT BETWEEN ER and ICU
Patient Ratios:
o ED: 1:3-4
o ICU: 1:1-2 (dependent on acuity/age)
o Med Surg: 1:5 (dependent on acuity/age)
Required Certifications:
o BLS, ACLS, TNCC, PALS
o NIHSS (preferred)
o CPI (preferred)
Required Education:
o Completion of a nursing education program that is approved by a board of nursing;
Registered Nurse (RN) - South Dakota Board of Nursing
Skills required:
o General ED experience, critical care experience for ICU holds, Trauma experience,
complex wound care, dressing changes, nursing assessments
o Comfortability to work all care areas to include ED, ICU and Med Surg

Cons
Lack benefits and perks other companies offer. Was incorrectly paid more than once. The assignment was the worst I’ve experienced from management down to housekeeping. They nitpick travelers on every level and give them double the respiratory therapist to patient ratio with every assignment spread over multiple floors and areas on every side of the facility. Staff makes no attempt at teamwork. Bottom line: Malone is ok🥴 but has MUCH room to improve. Elizabethtown, KY is awful and puts their patients and your license at risk every shift. Don’t do it!
