Special Education Teacher – Autism Intensive Classroom | Superior, CO
$49–$52 per Hour | Full-Time | School-Based
Exciting Opportunity with PediaStaff!
PediaStaff is seeking a dedicated Special Education Teacher to support elementary students with autism and intensive behavioral needs in the Superior, CO area. This position offers a collaborative classroom environment with strong support from paraprofessionals, behavioral specialists, and related service providers.
Position Details
- Location: Superior, CO
- Pay Rate: $49–$52 per hour
- Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8 hours per day
- Hours: 40 hours per week, full-time
- Start Date: ASAP
- End Date: May 21, 2027
- Setting: Elementary School, Autism Intensive Learning Classroom (ILC)
- Classroom Size: Approximately 11 students
- Support Staff: 5 full-time paraeducators, BCBA, SLP, OT/PT, Psychologist, and Social Worker support
Key Responsibilities
- Provide specialized instruction to elementary students with autism and intensive behavioral needs.
- Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs).
- Implement positive behavior interventions and classroom management strategies.
- Collaborate with paraprofessionals, BCBAs, therapists, and special education teams.
- Support students with communication, social-emotional, academic, and functional skill development.
- Monitor student progress and maintain accurate documentation.
- Foster a structured, supportive, and inclusive classroom environment.
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of public school classroom experience working with students with autism and behavioral challenges required.
- Active Colorado Department of Education (CDE) teaching license or currently in the process of obtaining one required.
- Must provide a copy of CDE license or COOL verification with application.
- Strong classroom management and behavioral intervention skills.
- Must be flexible, collaborative, and comfortable working with students with intensive needs.
- Temporary Educator Eligibility (TEE) sponsorship is not available.
