Special Education Director – Dearborn, MI
Up to $70 per Hour | Part-Time | School-Based
Exciting Opportunity with PediaStaff!
PediaStaff is seeking an experienced Special Education Director to provide leadership and oversight of special education services at a K–8 charter school in the Dearborn, MI area. This part-time opportunity is ideal for an experienced special education administrator looking for supplemental hours while making a meaningful impact on student success and program development.
Position Details
- Location: Dearborn, MI
- Pay Rate: Up to $70 per hour
- Schedule: Part-time, flexible scheduling
- Hours: 16 hours per week
- Start Date: ASAP
- End Date: Ongoing assignment, no predetermined end date
- Setting: K–8 charter school
Key Responsibilities
- Provide leadership and oversight of special education programs and services.
- Ensure compliance with state and federal special education regulations.
- Oversee IEP development, implementation, and compliance.
- Support special education evaluations, assessments, and eligibility processes.
- Provide coaching, mentoring, and professional development to special education staff.
- Collaborate with school leadership, teachers, families, and multidisciplinary teams.
- Support curriculum development, instructional planning, and program improvement.
- Assist with special education policies, procedures, and documentation.
Qualifications
- Michigan special education administrative credentials or other appropriate qualifications for the role.
- Previous special education leadership or administrative experience preferred.
- Strong knowledge of IEP processes, special education compliance, and instructional practices.
- Experience with curriculum development, staff supervision, and professional development.
- Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaborate with school administration.
