Special Education Teacher – Dearborn, MI
$50–$57 per Hour | Full-Time | School-Based
Exciting Opportunity with PediaStaff!
PediaStaff is seeking a dedicated Special Education Teacher to support K–8 students in a charter school setting in the Dearborn, MI area for the 2026–2027 school year. This opportunity offers a collaborative educational environment where you'll help students with diverse learning needs reach their academic, social, and developmental goals.
Position Details
- Location: Dearborn, MI
- Pay Rate: $50–$57 per hour
- Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7.5 hours per day
- Hours: 37.5 hours per week, full-time
- Start Date: ASAP
- End Date: June 30, 2027
- Extension: Potential to extend into summer 2027 and the 2027–2028 school year
- Setting: K–8 charter school, in-person
Key Responsibilities
- Provide specialized instruction to K–8 students with diverse learning and developmental needs.
- Develop, implement, and monitor individualized education programs (IEPs).
- Adapt curriculum and instructional strategies to meet individual student needs.
- Support students with academic, behavioral, and social-emotional development.
- Collaborate with general education teachers, paraprofessionals, families, and special education teams.
- Conduct assessments, track student progress, and maintain accurate documentation.
- Participate in IEP meetings and multidisciplinary team discussions.
- Maintain a structured, supportive, and inclusive classroom environment.
Qualifications
- Active Michigan teaching certificate with appropriate Special Education endorsement required.
- Bachelor's degree in Special Education or a related field.
- Previous experience working with K–8 students with disabilities preferred.
- Strong knowledge of IEP development, differentiated instruction, and classroom management.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
- Passion for supporting students with diverse educational and behavioral needs.
