$50–$53 per Hour | Full-Time | 2026–2027 School Year
Exciting Opportunity with PediaStaff!
PediaStaff is seeking a dedicated Special Education Teacher (LBS1) for a full-time opportunity in the Park Ridge, IL area, just outside Chicago! This position is within a private therapeutic school supporting junior high students with significant emotional and behavioral needs.
Position Details
- Location: Park Ridge, IL (Chicago area)
- Pay Rate: $50–$53 per hour
- Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7 hours per day
- Hours: 35 hours per week
- Start Date: ASAP
- End Date: May 28, 2027
- Setting: Private therapeutic school
- Student Population: Junior high students with significant emotional and behavioral challenges
- Instructional Model: Blended e-learning and in-person classroom instruction
Key Responsibilities
- Provide specialized instruction to junior high students in a therapeutic educational setting.
- Develop, implement, and monitor individualized education programs (IEPs).
- Support students with significant emotional, behavioral, and social-emotional needs.
- Deliver instruction using a combination of classroom teaching and blended e-learning.
- Participate in IEP meetings and collaborate with families and multidisciplinary teams.
- Implement individualized behavioral interventions and classroom management strategies.
- Monitor student progress and maintain accurate educational documentation.
- Collaborate with school staff to create a safe, supportive learning environment.
Qualifications
- Degree in Special Education required.
- Active Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with LBS1 endorsement required.
- Experience working with students with emotional and behavioral challenges preferred.
- Previous experience in therapeutic or alternative school settings is a plus.
- Strong classroom management, communication, and collaboration skills.
- Passion for supporting students with complex special education needs.
