$50–$55 per Hour | Full-Time | 2026–2027 School Year

PediaStaff is seeking dedicated Special Education Teachers for school-based opportunities in the Maywood, Illinois area! These positions offer the opportunity to support students with diverse learning, developmental, emotional, and behavioral needs in specialized classroom settings.

Position Details
- Location: Maywood, IL (Chicago area)
- Pay Rate: $50–$55 per hour
- Schedule: Monday–Friday, following the school calendar
- Hours: Full-time
- Start Date: ASAP
- End Date: End of the 2026–2027 school year
- Setting: In-person, school-based
- Available Classroom Settings:
- Self-contained Autism classrooms
- Therapeutic Day Elementary classrooms
- Therapeutic Day High School classrooms
- Cross-categorical Special Education classrooms
- Student Population: Elementary through high school, depending on assignment
Key Responsibilities
- Provide specialized instruction to students with diverse learning, developmental, and behavioral needs.
- Develop, implement, and monitor individualized education programs (IEPs).
- Adapt curriculum and instructional strategies to meet individual student needs.
- Create structured, supportive classroom environments that promote learning and independence.
- Implement positive behavior supports and individualized behavior intervention plans.
- Participate in IEP meetings and collaborate with families, teachers, and multidisciplinary teams.
- Monitor student progress and maintain accurate educational documentation.
- Support students' academic, social-emotional, behavioral, and functional skill development.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Special Education or a related field required.
- Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with LBS1 endorsement preferred.
- Candidates with an appropriate Illinois substitute teaching license may be considered for select assignments, depending on school requirements.
- Experience in self-contained, autism, therapeutic, or cross-categorical classrooms preferred.
- Strong classroom management, communication, and collaboration skills.
- Passion for supporting students with complex special education needs.
