An immediate 13-week travel contract opening is available for an experienced Progressive Care Unit (PCU) / Stepdown Registered Nurse (RN) in Cape Coral, Florida (Gulf Coast / Lee County). Operating within an active 40-bed Orthopedic and General Surgical Progressive Care Unit, this position features a dependable 3x12 overnight schedule (12-hour Nights, 36 hours guaranteed weekly). DECEMBER START DATE! INTERVIEW & DIRECT OFFER PROCESS! NO MANDATORY ON-CALL! FIRST-TIME TRAVELERS WELCOME! The unit manages intermediate-acuity surgical admissions, high-acuity orthopedic reconstructions, continuous telemetry monitoring, and acute post-operative recoveries. 💰 PRE-CALCULATED PAY PACKAGE

• Weekly Gross: $2,245.00
• Weekly Tax-Free Stipend: $1,525.00
• Hourly W2 Rate: $20.00/hr (36 regular hours)
• Overtime Rate: $30.00/hr

📅 SHIFT & POSITION DETAILS

• Schedule: Night shifts, 3x12-Hours (36 hours guaranteed weekly).
• Guaranteed Hours: 36 regular hours guaranteed weekly.
• Assignment Duration: 13 Weeks (December 04, 2026 – March 06, 2027).
• On-Call Requirements: NO ON-CALL REQUIRED!
• Department Setting & Capacity: 40-bed Ortho/General Surgical PCU (Unit: 4W).
• Patient-to-Nurse Ratios: Typically 4:1 (may flex up to 6:1 depending on unit acuity and staffing).
• Floating Scope: Floating is required across related acute care units or sister campus facilities as operational census demands (travelers float first within clinical competencies).
• Clinical Scope & Specialty Care:
  • Intermediate-acuity care for complex orthopedic, spine, and general surgical postoperative patients.
  • Continuous cardiac telemetry strip monitoring, acute dysrhythmia identification, and early decompensation response.
  • Management of surgical drains (JP, Hemovac), wound VACs, peripheral nerve blocks, and epidural/PCA pain management.
  • Titration and maintenance of intermediate IV drip protocols, blood product infusions, and electrolyte replacements.
• EMR System: Epic (Epic proficiency required).

🚨 REQUISITE QUALIFICATIONS FOR SUBMISSION

• Experience: Minimum 2 years of dedicated acute care hospital Progressive Care Unit (PCU) / Stepdown clinical nursing experience. (First-time travelers accepted!).
• Education / Experience Rule: Must have verified degree accreditation documentation (ACEN, CCNE, etc.) OR a minimum of 5 total years of clinical RN nursing experience.
• Licensure: Active Florida RN License or Compact/NLC Multistate License strictly in hand at submittal.
• Certifications Required at Submittal (Must be attached):
  • American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS).
  • AHA Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS).
