RN Telemetry – Bakersfield, CA
13 Weeks | Nights | 36 Hours/Week
Start Date: 11/09/2026
Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM | 12-Hour Shifts
Unit Details
32-bed Telemetry Unit | Cerner EMR
Patient Ratio: 1:4 Telemetry | 1:5 Med-Surg
First to Float | Every Other Weekend
Requirements
Minimum 2 years of RN experience
Active CA RN license
BLS (AHA), ACLS, NIHSS (AHA or APEX)
Cerner experience preferred
Must be able to read and interpret cardiac rhythms independently
Must be comfortable caring for post-surgical patients, including bariatrics and total joint replacements
Patient Population
Acute and chronic medical conditions
Post-surgical patients: bariatrics, total joints, general surgery
Urology, GYN, and podiatry patients
Stroke patients
Potential oncology patients
Drips & Clinical Skills
Set-rate Cardizem, Amiodarone, and Heparin drips
No drip titration required
GE cardiac monitors
CPAP/BiPAP as ordered; no ventilators
Additional Requirements
Travelers are first to float to other Med-Surg/Telemetry units, including Mercy Downtown (approximately 6.5 miles away)
May float to ICU for Med-Surg/Telemetry patients or ER for Med-Surg/Telemetry holds
Weekend and holiday requirements apply
Navy blue scrubs required
Strict attendance and punctuality expectations
