An immediate 13-week travel contract opening is available for an experienced Progressive Care Unit (PCU) / Stepdown Registered Nurse (RN) in Beaver Dam, Wisconsin (Dodge County / Greater Madison area). Operating within an active 23-bed mixed-acuity blended care environment, this position features a dependable 3x12 overnight schedule (18:30 PM – 07:00 AM / 6:30 PM – 7:00 AM, 36 hours guaranteed weekly; facility will also consider a 48-hour schedule for travelers willing to work additional weekends). • Weekly Gross: $2,671.00
• Weekly Tax-Free Stipend: $1,267.00
• Hourly W2 Rate: $39.00/hr (36 regular hours)
• Overtime Rate: $58.50/hr

📅 SHIFT & POSITION DETAILS

• Schedule: Night shifts, 3x12-Hours (18:30 PM – 07:00 AM / 6:30 PM – 7:00 AM). Facility will consider 48-hour contracts for nurses open to picking up extra weekend coverage.
• Guaranteed Hours: 36 regular hours guaranteed weekly.
• Assignment Duration: 13 Weeks (November 30, 2026 start date).
• Weekend & Holiday Coverage: Every 3rd weekend rotation; every other holiday commitment.
• On-Call Requirements: Standby call as needed based on department census.
• Department Setting & Capacity: 23-bed blended-acuity inpatient unit (Unit: Med-Surg / PCU). Daily census averages ~10.
• Ratios: Typically 1:6 on nights (ratios adjust based on patient acuity and census).
• Floating Scope: Floats within clinical competencies as needed.
• Clinical Scope & Specialty Care:
  • Blended acuity care: Med/Surg, Stepdown/PCU, cardiac telemetry, and occasional ICU-level holding patients.
  • Continuous cardiac telemetry monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation, and rapid escalation.
  • Management and titration of cardiac drips, vasoactive agents, insulin infusions, and heparin protocols.
  • Care of acute respiratory patients: BiPAP/CPAP, high-flow nasal cannula (HFNC), chest tubes, tracheostomies, and mechanical ventilator maintenance.
  • Post-surgical recovery across general surgery and basic orthopedics (total hips/knees).
  • Nursing practice standards: Bedside Shift Reporting (BSSR), hourly rounding, and strict AIDET utilization.
• EMR System: Cerner (Cerner charting experience required; minimum 95% barcode scanning compliance required).

🚨 REQUISITE QUALIFICATIONS FOR SUBMISSION

• Experience: Minimum 2 years of acute care RN experience within the last 3 years with dedicated background in Progressive Care (PCU), Stepdown, or ICU. Prior travel nursing experience required (first-time travelers accepted if they possess 5+ years of total acute RN experience).
• Licensure: Active Wisconsin RN License or Compact/NLC Multistate License strictly in hand at submittal.
• Certifications Required at Submittal (Must be attached):
  • American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) — AHA only.
  • AHA Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) — AHA only.
