Description
ED/ICU/Med-Surg Float RN — South Dakota | ID 65210965
- Experience: Minimum 1.5 years; first-time travelers need 2+ years. Manager interview required.
- Mandatory floating: Must be comfortable caring for all ages across ED, ICU, and Med-Surg.
- Clinical skills: General ED, critical care for ICU holds, trauma care, complex wound care, dressing changes, and nursing assessments.
- Certifications: BLS, ACLS, TNCC, and PALS required; NIHSS and CPI preferred.
- Charting: Epic experience required.
- License/education: Approved nursing program and RN authorization to practice in South Dakota.
- Schedule: 12-hour variable shifts, every other weekend and holiday; no call. 36 guaranteed hours weekly.
- Ratios: ED 1:3–4, ICU 1:1–2, Med-Surg 1:5, depending on acuity.
- Distance: Must live more than 100 miles away. Former permanent staff need one year’s separation and rehire eligibility.
- RTO: Up to 7 days may be approved; contract must extend one week for each week missed.
- Orientation/scrubs: Two days; navy blue scrubs.
