Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) – Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR)
Facility Type/Setting: Hospital / Cardiovascular Operating Room
Shift & Schedule: Days, Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM–3:30 PM, with call
Weekly Hours: 40 hours
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Call/Weekend/Holiday Requirements: Call required. CVOR call typically runs Friday at 3:30 PM through Monday at 7:00 AM, usually 1–2 weekends per month depending on the calendar. Holiday call coverage is also required.

Requirements:

• Minimum 3 years of CVOR experience required.
• Graduation from an accredited or NLN-approved Registered Nursing program.
• Current RN license in the applicable state or district.
• BLS certification required.
• ACLS certification required.
• PALS certification required.
• Cerner experience required.
• BSN highly desired.
• OR nurses with at least 1 year of experience in both scrubbing and circulating may be considered.

Responsibilities:

• Provide safe, competent nursing care to patients undergoing cardiovascular surgery.
• Plan, coordinate, deliver, and evaluate direct and indirect perioperative nursing care.
• Support preoperative, intraoperative, and postoperative patient assessments.
• Scrub and circulate during cardiovascular surgical procedures as appropriate to role and competency.
• Assist with cardiac, thoracic, and vascular surgeries, including coronary artery bypass grafts, valve replacements, carotid endarterectomies, and abdominal aortic aneurysm repairs.
• Provide professional leadership and support to the healthcare team.
• Deliver patient-centered care in accordance with facility policies, standards, and service expectations.
• Document patient care using Cerner.
