Occupational Therapist (OT) – Hand Therapy | Simplified JD

Contract Duration: 14 Weeks
Shift: Day Shift
Schedule: 5 × 8-hour shifts
Hours: 40 hours/week

Requirements

• Active North Dakota OT license required.
• Travel experience is mandatory.
• Must have a few years of experience in Hand Therapy.
• Must be well-versed in custom hand splint fabrication.
• CHT (Certified Hand Therapist) certification is preferred but not mandatory.

Required Certifications

• Occupational Therapist (OTR/L) – NBCOT.
• North Dakota State OT License – required before start.
• BLS – American Heart Association (AHA), required before start.

Key Responsibilities

• Evaluate patients and develop individualized treatment plans.
• Provide occupational therapy based on patient diagnoses and physician orders.
• Specialize in hand therapy and custom hand splint fabrication.
• Educate patients and families about treatment procedures, assistive devices, and home exercise programs.
• Monitor patient progress and treatment outcomes.
• Coordinate care with interdisciplinary teams.
• Document evaluations, treatment plans, progress, and discharge plans.
• Identify changes in patient conditions and report appropriately.
• Provide clinical supervision to Occupational Therapy Assistants (OTAs).

Must-Have Skills

Mandatory

• Hand Therapy experience (few years).
• Custom hand splint fabrication experience.
• Travel experience.
• Active/eligible North Dakota OT license.

Preferred

- CHT certification (Certified Hand Therapist).
