Job Title:- RN – Telemetry (Night Shift)
Contract Duration: 13 Weeks
Location: Palm Springs, California 92262
Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM (Night Shift) Schedule: 3 × 12-hour shifts
Job Summary
Desert Regional Medical Center is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) – Telemetry to provide high-quality patient care in an acute-care hospital setting. The ideal candidate should have strong experience caring for patients with cardiac conditions, monitoring heart rhythms, interpreting cardiac telemetry readings, and responding to changes in patients' clinical conditions.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care to patients admitted to the telemetry unit.
- Continuously monitor patients' cardiac rhythms and vital signs.
- Recognize and respond to abnormal heart rhythms and changes in patient conditions.
- Perform cardiac assessments and monitor patients with cardiovascular conditions.
- Conduct neurological assessments and monitor patients exhibiting stroke symptoms.
- Utilize NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) to assess and document neurological deficits.
- Administer medications, including cardiac medications, as prescribed.
- Monitor patients receiving IV medications and cardiac treatments.
- Collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary healthcare teams.
- Document patient assessments, interventions, and responses accurately.
- Educate patients and families about cardiac conditions, medications, and treatment plans.
- Respond promptly to medical emergencies and changes in patient status.
Required Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license.
- Minimum 4 years of RN experience.
- Previous hospital Telemetry nursing experience.
- Strong knowledge of cardiac monitoring and rhythm interpretation.
- Experience with medication administration and patient assessments.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced acute-care hospital environment.
Required Certifications
- BLS (Basic Life Support).
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support).
- NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale) Certification – Required.
