Job Summary

The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for applying the nursing process to provide comprehensive care for veteran patients undergoing surgical procedures in the Operating Room (OR). Responsibilities include assessing patient needs, developing and implementing interdisciplinary care plans, documenting clinical interventions, and evaluating patient outcomes. The RN is also responsible for directing, assigning, and evaluating the work of non-nursing personnel providing patient care within the operating room.

Required Skills & Experience

• Clinical knowledge and critical thinking skills necessary to develop and implement effective patient care plans.
• Ability to perform a broad range of professional nursing duties in a surgical/operating room environment.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with patients, families, physicians, and healthcare team members.
• Ability to maintain accurate and timely patient documentation.

Preferred Skills & Experience

• Previous Operating Room (OR) experience preferred.
• Experience working in a surgical services environment is a plus.

Education

Required:

• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN)

Preferred:

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)

Certifications & Licenses

Required:

• Current Registered Nurse License in New Jersey or a Multi-State Compact RN License
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA)

Preferred:

• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification through AHA
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification

Language Requirements
