Night Shift

48 Guaranteed Hours

1. Shift & Contract Details

• Position: Registered Nurse (RN)
• Specialty: Medical-Surgical (Med-Surg)
• Facility: Menorah Medical Center
• Location: Overland Park, Kansas
• Address: 5721 W. 119th St, Overland Park, KS 66209
• Unit: ONOGS Med-Surg
• Floor: 3rd Floor
• Building: A614
• Guaranteed Hours: 48 hours per week
• Weekend Requirement: Every third weekend.

2. Unit Details

• 32-bed Med-Surg unit.
• Total staff: 49.
• Fast-paced working environment.
• Strong teamwork expected.

Night Shift Staffing:

• 1 Charge Nurse.
• 6–8 Registered Nurses.
• 4 Patient Care Technicians (PCTs).
• 1 Unit Secretary until 10 PM.

Patient Ratio:

• 1:4 without PCT support (TPC as listed).
• 1:5 with PCT support.
• May increase to 6 patients with PCT support at times.

3. Patient Population & Procedures

The unit primarily handles:

• Total joint replacements.
• Complex spine care.
• Complex neurosurgery cases.
• General surgery patients.

Candidates should be comfortable caring for post-operative and surgical patients.

4. Required Certifications

Must have:

- BLS.

Preferred:

• ACLS.
• PALS.
• Basic Dysthymia class (listed in the posting; confirm the exact course name with the account manager).

5. Required Clinical Skills

Candidates should be comfortable working in these areas when needed.

8. Dress Code

• Royal blue scrub top and bottom.
• Royal blue top with black scrub bottoms is also accepted.

9. Weekend Requirements

• Every third weekend.
• Night-shift weekend coverage may be Friday, Saturday or Sunday.
