Travel Registered Nurse (RN) – PICU
Location: Chicago, IL
Specialty: Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU)
Contract: 13 Weeks
Shift: Night Shift | 3x12 Hours and 4X12 Hours
Guaranteed Hours: 36 per week
Job Description
Seeking an experienced PICU Registered Nurse to provide specialized nursing care to pediatric and adolescent patients in a Level I Trauma Center. The ideal candidate should have strong critical care skills and experience managing complex pediatric conditions.
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of PICU nursing experience.
- Active Illinois RN license in hand at submission; pending licenses are not accepted.
- Required certifications: BLS and PALS.
- NIHSS listed as an additional certification.
- Cerner charting experience required.
- Experience with pediatric medication administration, emergency medications, continuous sedation, and IV vasopressors.
- Experience caring for ventilated patients and managing acute airways, BiPAP/CPAP, chest tubes, and central/PICC lines.
- Knowledge of ABG interpretation, ICP monitoring, and cardiac dysrhythmia management.
Schedule & Additional Details
- 3x12-hour night shifts.
- Every other weekend (approximately 2 weekends per month).
No block scheduling.
