MGR INTERVIEW

Unit Information:
Beds:
15 Ors and a hybrid room (shared with Cath Lab)
Average of 45 cases/day between OR and CVOR
Minimum Years of Experience required? 2 years
Will you accept a first-time traveler? Yes
Call required with 20 minute response time.  Two sleep rooms are available.

Required License, National Certification, Certs (BLS, ACLS, etc.), or other position specific requirements such as Driver's License and/or Insurance:  CST: BLS; NBSTSA, may consider NCCT

Technology/Equipment:
EMR: Cerner
IV Pump: Alaris
Med dispensing: Omnicell
Monitors:
Unit specific equipment: Cell saver, Belmont rapid infuser, glucometer, Davinci robotics

Patient Types/Common Diagnoses:  Cardiac, Hybrid, Vascular, Thoracic, Robotics (Thoracic)

Skills required:  Experience with cases listed above

Support within the Department:
Charge RN
Nurses
STAs (aides)
CSTs
PM: Charge, Staff RN, 2 Techs, 1 aide

Floating: If yes, where?  No

Orientation (facility and unit):
NEO (SOAR)
How many days of unit orientation? First week paired with preceptor
RNs: CVOR orientation with Educator; orient with CV, Vascular, Thoracic, Hybrid
CSTs: Minimal SOAR orientation; orient with CV, Vascular, Thoracic, Hybrid

Scheduling:
Weekend rotation: Weekends required for needs posted as weekends
On call? 1 day a week (Monday-Friday); 1 weekend every 4 weeks (Saturday/Sunday)
Holiday Expectations: About 50%, could be more based on need
RTO to be approved by Manager in advance
Shift times: 0645 shift start time (8s, 10s, 12s); Mid shift 0900-1930; Nights 1830-0700
Schedule cycle: 4 week increments, receive 8 weeks at a time about 2 weeks in advance
