An immediate 13-week travel contract opening is available for an experienced Labor & Delivery Registered Nurse (RN) in Lynwood, California (Los Angeles County / Greater LA metro area). Operating within an active hospital-based Family Birthplace / Perinatal Center, this position features a desirable 3x12 daytime schedule (07:00 AM – 19:30 PM / 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM, 36 hours guaranteed weekly). SUBSTANTIAL SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA TAX-FREE STIPEND ($1,725/WK)! CALIFORNIA DAILY OVERTIME BUILT IN! NO MANDATORY ON-CALL! IMMEDIATE / ASAP START AVAILABLE! The perinatal nursing team delivers comprehensive, family-centered clinical care across triage, active labor, delivery, recovery, and post-delivery maternal-infant couplet care. - Weekly Gross: $2,775.00
- Weekly Tax-Free Stipend: $1,725.00
- Hourly W2 Regular Rate: $25.00/hr (24 regular hours)
- Hourly W2 Daily Overtime Rate: $37.50/hr (12 daily OT hours included weekly per California wage standards)

- Schedule: Day shifts, 3x12-Hours (07:00 AM – 19:30 PM / 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM).
- Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours guaranteed weekly (structured as 24 regular hours + 12 daily overtime hours).
- Assignment Duration: 13 Weeks (Immediate / ASAP start).
- On-Call Requirements: NO ON-CALL REQUIRED!
- Weekend & Holiday Coverage: Rotational weekend and holiday coverage per departmental operational schedule.
- Department Setting: Hospital Perinatal & Maternal Child Health Services (Dept: Labor and Delivery / Birthplace - 74000).
- Clinical Scope & Specialty Care:
- Comprehensive care of low- and high-risk antepartum, intrapartum, and postpartum mothers and their newborns.
- Continuous electronic fetal monitoring (EFM) surveillance, baseline assessments, contraction pattern monitoring, and rapid strip interpretation.
- Triage assessments, labor management, induction/augmentation protocols (Pitocin titration), cervical ripening agents, and epidural care.
- Circulating, instrumentation, and recovery for scheduled and emergent Cesarean sections.
- Emergency obstetrical interventions: shoulder dystocia management, post-partum hemorrhage (PPH) protocols, and preeclampsia/eclampsia management.
- Immediate post-delivery newborn assessment, thermoregulation, APGAR scoring, neonatal stabilization, and couplet care.
- Patient and family education covering lactation support, postpartum recovery, and newborn discharge guidance.
🚨 REQUISITE QUALIFICATIONS FOR SUBMISSION
- Experience: Minimum 2 years of dedicated acute care Labor & Delivery RN clinical experience in an inpatient hospital setting.
- Licensure: Active California Registered Nurse (RN) License strictly in hand at submittal (with active Nursys report).
- Certifications Required at Submittal (Must be attached):
- Basic Life Support (BLS) — American Heart Association (AHA) only.
- Fetal Heart Monitoring Certification (AWHONN Intermediate or Advanced FHM).
