Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Retail Pharmacist for an outpatient community pharmacy. This is a strictly retail pharmacy position with no inpatient hospital pharmacy responsibilities.

The pharmacist will oversee outpatient prescription services, ensure safe and accurate medication dispensing, provide patient counseling, and support vaccination services.

Key Responsibilities

• Review, verify, and dispense prescription medications accurately and safely.
• Provide medication counseling and education to patients.
• Evaluate prescriptions for appropriate dosing, potential interactions, and medication safety.
• Support vaccination services offered onsite.
• Collaborate with pharmacy technicians to maintain efficient daily pharmacy operations.
• Ensure compliance with pharmacy regulations, policies, and procedures.
• Manage prescription workflow while maintaining accuracy and patient safety.
• Support 340B-covered retail pharmacy operations.
• Provide excellent customer service and address patient medication-related questions.

Schedule and Pharmacy Details

• Weekday Shifts: 7:30 AM–5:30 PM or 8:30 AM–6:30 PM, including lunch breaks.
• Weekend Shifts: Saturday/Sunday, 7:30 AM–1:30 PM.
• Variable day shifts, including weekday and weekend coverage.
• Pharmacy operating hours:
  • Monday–Friday: 8:00 AM–6:00 PM
  • Saturday–Sunday: 8:00 AM–1:00 PM
• Average prescription volume: Approximately 115 prescriptions per day.
• Highest reported volume: Over 240 prescriptions per day.
• Pharmacy technicians available for support most weekdays.
• Pharmacy management system: Liberty.
• 340B-covered retail pharmacy.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Active Oregon Pharmacist license required in hand before starting.
• Previous retail or community pharmacy experience preferred.
• Experience with 340B pharmacy operations preferred.
• Familiarity with Liberty pharmacy software preferred.
• Experience administering vaccinations preferred.
• Strong medication dispensing, verification, and patient counseling skills.
• Ability to manage prescription volume while maintaining accuracy and patient safety.

• Strictly outpatient retail pharmacy.
• No inpatient hospital pharmacy responsibilities.
