Job Summary: 
Heart of the Rockies Medical is seeking an experienced Surgical Technologist – First Assist to join its Operating Room team in Salida, Colorado.

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of two years of relevant surgical experience and the ability to provide skilled assistance during surgical procedures. The successful candidate will support surgeons and the surgical team in maintaining a safe, efficient, and sterile operating room environment while prioritizing patient safety and quality care.

This position requires flexibility to participate in rotating call coverage, including weekday call and every fourth weekend.
 

Essential Responsibilities: 
Provide surgical assistance and support to surgeons during operative procedures.
Assist with maintaining a safe and sterile operating room environment.
Prepare and organize surgical instruments, supplies, and equipment.
Support surgical procedures while maintaining appropriate sterile technique.
Collaborate with surgeons, Registered Nurses, anesthesia providers, and other surgical team members.
Anticipate surgical team needs and ensure instruments and supplies are readily available.
Maintain compliance with infection prevention, patient safety, and operating room protocols.
Participate in rotating call coverage as required.
Demonstrate strong communication, teamwork, and clinical skills.
Minimum Qualifications
Minimum of 2 years of relevant surgical experience required.
General BLS/BCLS certification required.
Experience in Operating Room / Surgical Technology.
First Assist experience appropriate to the position.
