Position Overview

Heart of the Rockies Regional Medical Center is seeking an experienced Surgical Technologist – First Assist to support its Operating Room team. The ideal candidate must have orthopedic surgical experience and be comfortable assisting surgeons and other clinical staff throughout surgical procedures.

The Surgical Technologist will help maintain a safe and sterile surgical environment while ensuring instruments, supplies, and equipment are properly prepared and available.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare the operating room, surgical instruments, supplies, and equipment before procedures.
• Maintain sterile technique and ensure a safe surgical environment.
• Assist surgeons and the OR team during surgical procedures.
• Anticipate surgical needs and provide instruments and supplies promptly.
• Support patient positioning and surgical preparation.
• Assist with orthopedic procedures.
• Follow infection prevention, patient safety, and operating room protocols.
• Ensure surgical instruments and equipment are properly handled.

Requirements

• Previous orthopedic surgical experience is mandatory.
• Current CPR certification.
• Certification as an Operating Room Surgical Technician is required.
• Strong knowledge of surgical instruments, sterile technique, and OR procedures.
• Ability to work collaboratively with surgeons and the surgical team.
